Site
What began as a small awareness project has grown into a substantial independently maintained archive of publicly reported child sexual offence cases.
Instead of searching hundreds of police force websites, court reports and archived news articles individually, the Index brings thousands of publicly reported cases together into one organised resource that can be browsed by year and month.
Built for awareness, education and research, the Index helps preserve publicly available information in a structured format while making it significantly easier for parents, professionals, researchers and members of the public to locate historical conviction reports.
Why This Index Exists
Publicly reported convictions are often scattered across hundreds of individual police force websites, local newspapers and court reports. As older articles disappear from headlines or become difficult to find, valuable public information can become increasingly fragmented. The FrankAwareness UK Child Sexual Offence Convictions Index was created to solve that problem by bringing together publicly reported convictions into a single searchable archive that is organised by year and month. Rather than replacing the original sources, every entry aims to direct readers back to the original reporting wherever possible, making the Index a gateway to publicly available information rather than a replacement for it.
Today, the archive contains 4,193 recorded cases, making it one of the largest independently maintained collections of its kind.
Latest Update β 512 Additional Cases Added
Following the latest round of research and verification, the UK Child Sexual Offence Convictions Index has expanded once again with the addition of 512 further recorded cases. These additions cover five separate monthly archives spanning four historical years together with the latest completed month from 2026. Every new archive has been fully integrated into the searchable Index, increasing the overall total to 4,193 recorded cases.
These five archives represent hundreds of additional convictions that are now easier to locate through a single searchable resource rather than across numerous individual police websites, court reports and news publications. Each monthly archive contains direct links to publicly available source material wherever possible, allowing readers to explore the original reporting in greater detail.
- Total Cases: 4,193
- BF Database: 3,056
- PH Database: 1,137
How the Index Works
As the number of recorded cases continued to grow, simply publishing individual news posts was no longer enough. Finding older convictions meant searching through hundreds of separate articles spread across multiple years. To solve that problem, the FrankAwareness UK Child Sexual Offence Convictions Index was developed as a structured archive that allows visitors to browse convictions by year and then by month. Instead of searching dozens of different websites individually, visitors can quickly navigate to the period they are interested in before opening the relevant monthly archive.
Colour-Coded Year Navigation
Every year within the Index has its own colour, making navigation much clearer as the archive continues to expand. Each year card displays:
- Total convictions recorded for that year.
- Separate BF and PH database totals.
- Expandable and collapsible year sections.
- Direct links to every completed monthly archive.
As additional months are researched and verified, the yearly totals automatically increase while keeping the archive organised and easy to browse. Whether someone is looking for recent convictions or historical records, they can move through the archive with just a few clicks.
Understanding the BF and PH Databases
The overall Index combines information from two separately maintained databases while presenting a single searchable archive.
- BF Database β Cases compiled and verified from official public sources, including police forces, the National Crime Agency (NCA), the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and other official agencies where available.
- PH Database β Cases originating from publicly reported paedophile hunter investigations and related public reporting, maintained as a separate dataset within the overall archive.
Designed to Keep Growing
The Index has been built with future expansion in mind. As new months are completed and historic archives are researched, additional pages can be added without changing the overall structure of the site. The colour-coded navigation, yearly summaries and monthly archive system allow the project to continue growing while remaining straightforward to use on both desktop and mobile devices.
Built for Desktop, Tablet and Mobile
The UK Child Sexual Offence Convictions Index has been redesigned to provide a clearer and more consistent experience across desktop computers, tablets and smartphones. The responsive layout keeps the same information and navigation available across different screen sizes, making it easier to browse recent updates, older archives and individual monthly pages.
Whether someone is reviewing the latest monthly additions, searching historic records or moving between different year archives, the layout automatically adapts while keeping the navigation familiar and easy to follow.
Designed for Accessibility
The redesign focuses on making a large archive easier to navigate. Large buttons, clear colour coding, improved spacing and responsive layouts help visitors move through thousands of recorded cases without the page becoming difficult to follow. Expandable and collapsible year sections also reduce unnecessary scrolling and allow visitors to move directly to the period they want to explore.
The same searchable Index works across desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices without requiring a separate mobile version.
Watch the Index Walkthrough
Seeing the Index in action is often the quickest way to understand how it works. The short walkthrough below demonstrates the homepage, colour-coded year navigation, expandable archive sections and the monthly conviction pages that make up the searchable Index. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to explore the latest updates, the video provides a quick overview of how the archive is organised.
The walkthrough highlights many of the features introduced during the latest redesign, including improved navigation, responsive layouts and the ability to browse the archive by year and month. As the project continues to expand, future updates will build on this structure while keeping the experience familiar and easy to use.
The Index currently contains 4,193 recorded cases organised across five years of searchable archives, with additional historic months being added as research and verification continue.
Why This Work Matters
Every entry within the UK Child Sexual Offence Convictions Index represents a real criminal case that has been publicly reported through official agencies, the courts or other publicly available sources. While individual reports are important, they are often published once before disappearing into large news archives or becoming difficult to locate over time. The purpose of this Index is to organise that publicly available information into one searchable resource that is easier to navigate, reference and preserve.
The project continues to grow through ongoing research, verification and the addition of historic monthly archives. Every completed update strengthens the overall resource while helping to build one of the UK’s largest independently maintained searchable archives of publicly reported child sexual offence convictions.
- 4,193 publicly recorded cases
- 3,056 BF database entries
- 1,137 PH database entries
- Five searchable years covering 2022β2026
